Preparation: 25 -30 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 Diced otato
- 1 1/2 Cups of red lentils (packaged not canned)
- 1 Diced carrot
- 1 Diced onion
- 6 Cups water
- Sprinkle salt, pepper
- 3 Tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1 Tablespoon of flour
Method
- Rinse the lentils
- In a saucepan place oil and onion. Once it softens place one tablespoon of flour. This will take away the onion smell. When you notice the smell of the onion disappear place the potato and carrot
- Stir the vegetables and add the lentils, pepper and salt, then stir
- Add 5 glasses of water and cook for 40 minutes whilst stirring at times to ensure the potato doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pot
- After 40 mins use a mixer to blend any left-over vegetable for a smooth texture
- Serve in a bowl
