Ingredients
- 1 kg Green beans edged cut off
- 1 Diced onion
- 3 Grated tomatoes
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Optional: serve with yoghurt
Alternatives
- Add cooked mincemeat to the dish or cooked diced lamb
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees
- Mix the onion, tomato, olive oil, sugar and salt in a bowl. This will be the sauce
- In an oven-safe pot, place the green beans in a row then add the sauce, continue layering the beans and the sauce until complete
- Place the pot with a lid in the oven until the beans soften. Remove the lid and cook for another 10 mins
- Serve hot or cold with yoghurt
